It was purchased with a certain amount of uncertainty because various reviews from sites that I visted denigrated foam cushions. The main complaint was compression. The cushion is soft, and it is similar to those at other sites, and it did in fact, compress as I expected, but it did what it was designed to do. The cushion gives my wife added comfort the chair bottom cannot and it returns to its original shape. Cushions using gel, air, combinations, etc. have inherant problems, not to mention price. Eveyone's need sre different. This cushion may be insufficient for your needs but, it is a quality cushion.
