(More customer reviews)I ordered the Extended Comfort Seat Pad by Shakti Inc. after doing some research on the LiquiCell Technology. There is a video that describes the technology on their website www.ergo21.com
The Seat Pad has thin liquid filled membranes that act as a shield between the sitting tail bone and the surface. The pad itself is so thin that when I got it, I was doubtful it will provide any comfort. I sit in front of the computer all day long and at first did not notice any difference. A few hours later I realized that I was not squirming on my expensive ergonomic chair from side to side. I felt as if a great load of pressure has been lifted and the numbing pain at the bottom of the spine which comes after sitting for long periods was gone. I pulled the pad off the chair just to see the difference. Yikes! I put it right back again.
Later on I read a small note that came with the Seat Pad which pointed out to try the Seat Pad for an extended period of time as it provided comfort over time.
Next I was curious to try it in my car as I had read that you can get the LiquiCell as an option built it right into some of the Toyota Models. Interestingly after doing some research on the Internet, I found, RECARO, the chair maker of high end seating for plane, trucking and high end car seats, and office chair has a $3000 office chair that has LiquiCell pad built into their seat. [...]
I took the Extended Comfort Seat Pad on a four hour road trip to Vegas and noticed the same benefits as I noticed when I used it on my office chair. The pressure on the sitting bone was considerably reduced with the seat pad in place. After driving for half an hour I removed the Seat Pad to see the difference and was taken by surprise to notice twice the pressure on my tail bone and spine came back.
Needless to say I now take this Seat Pad everywhere. It is so thin and compact that I can fold it and carry it with the carrying case that came with it. I have also just carried it in my back pocket a few times. I used it on the hard seat at the Angel Stadium for 3 hours and was very comfortable. I also take it to restaurants and movies. I can't wait to take it to all the summer concerts. Highly recommended!
I am also trying out their Walk on Water Insoles with the same LiquiCell technology and will try to post a feedback as time permits.
