(More customer reviews)I got this board because of minor wounds on my buttocks and thighs. The wood board with handles I was using was aggravating these wounds, so I wanted something more flexible. This board is perfect for me because it is flexible and makes for a smooth transfer. I transfer with ease between my wheelchair and the bed, car, and commode. I cannot walk or stand, however, I have strong upper body strength and a husband who is always close by when I'm transferring. Even though I can use this board easily by myself, it would not be good to use for individuals who are weak or unstable by themselves because it is so slick. But as long as a person is not weak or unstable OR has a caregiver to help, it's a great transfer board which works well with wheelchairs.

(More customer reviews)My boyfriend had 1 of these slide boards. It is a wonderful item. Very helpful. But when we would go out, we would forget to grab it and have to go back and retrieve it. So now we have 2. I feel this board makes transferring much safer. One for the car one for the house! Life is simpler and safer!

(More customer reviews)I have used this board to transfer from my power wheelchair to our bed. It is sturdy and lightweight and easy to handle due to the two gripping slots at either end. It is highly varnished, however, so it's somewhat slippery in all directions when you're sliding along in your clothing or pj's, which could result in someone sliding off the front or back of the board if they don't have sufficient arm strength to hang on. I wouldn't try to use it for shower access for this reason, fearing that I might wind up on the shower floor rather than the shower seat, especially if the board were wet.

(More customer reviews)We needed a transfer board to assist with a wheelchair transfer. It worked well for our needs. The board we ordered is small, so it easily works with a small person and a small wheelchair, but a bigger sized board would be better for an average sized adult. We used it for our teen-aged child (105 pounds). The board has ridges. Not a problem for us, but we put a towel over it so my child's skin wouldn't get caught or irritated.
The seller sent the product quickly, and it was just what we needed.
