I checked it for accuray against my other large blood pressure monitor, and I get the same readings. Easy to Use Just wrap the cuff around your wrist, and with just one touch of the On/Off Start button, the monitor auto inflates for quick, easy measurements. An automatic memory feature allows two people to capture 90 readings each for a total of 180 readings. Each person can save readings in order to track them over time to observe trends.
The large LCD panel shows both blood pressure readings and pulse rate simultaneously. If the unit detects an irregular pulse, it will display an icon, indicating that the reading should be retaken as it is inaccurate. The same thing will happen if the device detects movement during the reading.

(More customer reviews)I've had it for one day and it seems to be accurate. I calibrated the UA-787EJ against the manual setup (stethiscope, gauge and cuff) that I purchased last week and the readings are consistant. I read the first review that stated their disatisfaction b/c the readings were "high". I would recommend calibrating the unit yourself and if it is off, return it for another or a refund.
For the last week I've tested several monitors in the local stores (Omron, ReliOn, LifeSource) and I felt that all of them reported low BP readings. I even ordered one that was very eratic in its readings but was always 10 to 12 points lower than the readings taken w/a stethiscope (sometimes I used the BP machine at Wal-Mart, which seemed to be consistent). I returned it for a refund.
I work at a hospital, and a co-worker used the new UA-787EJ this morning, found that his blood pressure was very high, went down to ER and indeed it was extremely high. If you have doubts about the accuracy, I suggest purchasing the manual steth., gauge and cuff to do your own calibartion. It was the only way I could be confident the automatic unit was accurate and reliable. The manual setup only costs about $16.00 from Wal-Mart (maybe less from Amazon) and taking your BP is easy.

(More customer reviews)I used this automatic BP machine and I compared it with a manual BP, and it was more or less the same measurement (maybe a couple of points off but no big difference). It was also manageable to self apply the cuff. And the best perk was that the machine seems to be able to detect when to stop inflation of the cuff without overinflation and still maintain an accurate reading (which is a personalized feature I didn't know it came with). The only thing I didn't like about it was that the reading doesn't stay on the screen for as long as I would like (though you can access it by pushing "memory"). I'm assuming that's to conserve battery life? But overall, I really like it. I've had it for over a week now and it's been consistent readings. Hopefully it'll stay that way!

(More customer reviews)We received the monitor quickly. Unfortunately, the cuff was too large for my wife's arm. We had understood that it would fit a petite woman. I called the customer service line at the vendor to inquire about a small cuff. I was told that one was available, and the price, as well as shipping cost. Then to my plesant surprise, the customer service representative volunteered to send one to us free of charge. The monitor works well, and the customer care is outstanding.
