Ergo Tek Plus Reachers Review

Ergo Tek Plus Reachers

I have used a 26" AliMed grabber on a daily basis for almost 20 years and it is still sturdy. I wanted another grabber and decided to buy from the same company. Although I was dubious about a folding grabber, I thought it would be a good idea for traveling. I should have listened to the little voice in my head telling me not to get a folding type, because this one isn't nearly as strong as my original one piece tool. The "joint" which connects the two pieces doesn't lock in place very well and the grabbing "thumb" gets out of alignment easily, probably because of the slack in the cord required to fold the tool. Due to a 20% restocking charge and insured return postage, it doesn't make much sense to return it, but I would recommend it only for occasional light weight use.

Pikstik Pro Reachers - 48": Color - Yellow Review

Pikstik Pro Reachers - 48: Color - Yellow

I purchased two PikStiks in March 2007 for a total cost of $56.64. They have a yellow soft plastic lining the gripper jaws. These are attached to the jaws of the gripper but only by a couple of tiny nobs of soft plastic. These little nobs soon come loose from the jaws leaving a hard black plastic gripper jaw with sharp edges.
I have another PikStik which I purchased several years before 2007. It is made of plastic, was much cheaper, and is still in good working condition.

PikStik-Pro Aluminum Reacher, 32" Review

YOU WILL LOVE THIS. I am well pleased with this product. I have used pics sticks for years, both the plastic ones and the metal ones. I'm very rough on them and the plastic ones break occasionally (I try to pick up objects that are much too heavy). I have used a metal one now for almost a year with no signs of wear. I recently bought two of them from Amazon as gifts. The price at Amazon is less than one half of what I was paying at the hardware store. You can actually pick a straight pin off of the wooden floor with this -- it really works, I have done it many times.

Folding Helping Hand Long-Reach Pick-Up Gripper - 26" Light Weight Aluminum Body Review

Folding Helping Hand Long-Reach Pick-Up Gripper - 26 Light Weight Aluminum Body

I purchased two of these Grabbers and both had serious problems. In the middle of the bar there is a mechanism to lock the length in place. On one of the units the button that you push to lock it was rolling around in the box and had to be repaired, which I did. When you squeeze the trigger on the other one the suction cups close and won't release the item you picked up. This happens each time you use the grabber without sliding the lock that allows you to hold an item without continuing to squeeze the trigger. I would not advise anyone to purchase this grabber.
