They are the sturdiest and easiest to use of all the reachers I've tried (4 or 5 different ones) and I have one on each floor of my home and one in the car. Now I have a fourth in my closet "just in case". The only issue I ever have with the product is that really tiny items, such as a small pill or a coin, can be difficult to pick up, and for that I use a different reacher that has suction cups. For everything else, this is the one to have. It easily holds unwieldy items (a book, say, or a pile of clothes), is lightweight, and is nice-enough looking to have out, just leaning against a corner.
