PVC Shower Commode Chair w/ Open Front Review

PVC Shower Commode Chair w/ Open Front
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Please continue to research your options, simply put ? THIS IS JUNK.
* Lightweight and low quality
* Does NOT provide appropriate safety required in a bathroom.
*********** Used only once by a patient weighing slightly less than 100 lbs. - 1 of the wheels cracked and dislodged from the frame in the shower, causing the chair to almost tip over ! Needless to say, I was horrified.
Manufactured by Anthros Medical and sold through various medical equipment retailers, this chair is NOT safe nor is it supportive !
Save time, money, and the nightmare of returns. DO read reviews. DO shop around.

Invacare I-Fit Shower Chair with Back Review

Invacare I-Fit Shower Chair with Back
Average Reviews:

This is a very good quality shower chair. It is stable and I love that you can adjust the height for each persons comfort. The backrest does provide good support and has a little give if you want to lean back to rinse your hair. I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and I provide people with shower chairs for a living. This is the best one I have seen! I now have a back injury, so I got this chair for myself and I really like it. I would say the only downside is that it is a large chair and if you don't have a tub shower or a big stall shower, it wouldn't fit very well.

Carex Round Shower Stool Review

Carex Round Shower Stool

I put the chair together and have been using it for a month now after foot surgery. I notice that rust has started around the middle screw holding all the legs together. I thought this was strange since it is a shower chair and will on occasion get wet. It also said it was adjustable. You must have to be REALLY strong to get those pegs to move because they have not budged. The height is good for what I need now, but I thought I could continue using it as a stool later on. Guess that is not to be. Don't get me wrong, I do like it. I mean it is the only round one I have found and is easy to move around on it. Just wish it was more user friendly on the buttons and did not have part of the assembly rusting. I don't think it is the big screw it self that I rusting, but the ring that goes around it maybe.

Standard Deluxe PVC Shower Commode Chair Review

Standard Deluxe PVC Shower Commode Chair
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Just as lightweight and low in quality as similar items advertised, this product does NOT provide appropriate support and safety required in a bathroom. Frame can and will crack, wheels are worthless.
FYI: most of these are manufactured by the same company. DO NOT BUY THIS !
While shopping, keep in mind that options offered for shower / commode chairs are very important as well.
* Does the item you are interested in offer optional features ?
* Does the individual need a seat belt, special size or measurements ?
* A footrest ?
* One arm to fold down for transfers ?
* Heavy duty casters/wheels? ( A MUST )
Save time, money, and the nightmare of returns. DO read reviews, and DO compare various products. 0 STARS ON THIS !!

Deluxe Aluminum Bath Bench Without Back Review

Deluxe Aluminum Bath Bench Without Back

I'm 32 years old and broke my ankle due to a car accident and needed a bath seat. This seat was very easy to assemble ( essentially 3 pieces and a few screws) And it importantly is very strong. We have a standard size tube so it fit perfectly. I would recommend this product to anyone under the 250lb maxim. I wish whomever is needing this seat a happy and healthy recovery.

Medline Bariatric Bath Bench without Back Review

Medline Bariatric Bath Bench without Back
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Here are the good things about this bath bench:
1. It is light weight and will not rust because the sitting platform is durable plastic and the metal supports and legs are tubular aluminum. Almost all other competing models have painted steel tubing and are subjected to rust.
2. It can handle 550 lbs. of weight. As a result, it can serve almost 99.999% of the population.
3. The two aluminum cross-tubs prevent the legs from bending and causing the bench to collapse. As a safety precaution, all bath benches should have this feature, but they do not.
4. For bath benches that can handle 500 lbs. or more, this is the most inexpensive. I know because I checked out every competing model on the internet. In addition, look no further than the amazon.com website, the price is the cheapest in the U.S.
5. The design of the sitting platform, tubular supports, legs, and screw holes help water to completely drain away. As a consequence, there are no mold and mildew problems and buildup as found in other competing models.

Here are the bad things on this item. Please be aware that all other similar models have these inherent problems.
1. This product is designed for a walk-in shower stall with a large area. In most homes, this is not the typical arrangement. Most have a bathtub with an accompanying shower head. In this kind of setup, the bath bench occupies 40% of the area.
2. Because of the narrowness of the bathtub, a person can not sit on it as designed. S/he has to sit on one end of the bench.
For this reason, do not buy the deluxe model with a back rest. You will not be able to use it in a bath tub.
3. In a rare occasion if a person partially sit on the edge and lean forward, an imbalance in the weight may cause the back end to flip up. As a result, the occupier will fall on his/her butt. Injury will be a certainty.
This is a design defect. By flaring the legs out by an inch or more, this possibility can be avoided.

Deluxe Folding Bath Bench Review

Deluxe Folding Bath Bench
Average Reviews:

There are two things wrong. 1. Its to big for a standard tub. The legs are too wide. 2. It DOES NOT FOLD! (or at least, once I unfolded it, I or my husband could not fold it back up) So its bulky and takes up space. I'm looking for a new one.
I have not had issues with the rubber stops, but I take it out of the tub after I use it, so that may be the difference. I wish I could return it, but I can't fold it back up to return it.
Don't buy this item.
