PROBASICS FOLDING CANE WITH CARRY POUCH-BLACK Review

PROBASICS FOLDING CANE WITH CARRY POUCH-BLACK
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this product for the express purpose of using it in conjunction with my walker when I did therapy in the pool. This cane is much more convenient than a regular cane when using the walker. It holds my weight well and does it job perfectly. I use it these days even without the walker. I have MS with ataxia and gait problems so I need both and when I don't use my walker I definably use my cane.

Duro-Med Adjustable Multi-Color Large Base Base Quad Cane Review

Duro-Med Adjustable Multi-Color Large Base Base Quad Cane
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First of all, this product is only for people who prefer quad-canes to regular ones.
The pluses of quad-canes in general are this:
- They provide more support
- They can stand up on their own and do not need to be hung on a rack or chair
- People, like me, who have knee problems, can use the base of the quad cane as a rest for their foot so that they can keep their bad legs straighter
The minuses of quad-canes are:
- They are heavier
- They take up more space and cannot be folded
- One has to be cautious not to step on the base or kick it while walking
After you have weighed which kind of cane is right, you might consider whether this particular quad cane is right for you. The pluses and minuses of this product, based on my experience are:
Pluses:
- This particular quad-cane is quite light
- It is adjustable height (I am 6'4" and I do not even use its full height)
- It has a handle that provides a good grip
- If it is used properly, it is quite durable
Minuses:
- If you don't use canes properly, you will want a stronger, heavier model. For instance, this cane's base only has a plate on top of the four legs, not below. Hence, it is lighter, but the legs are more prone to bending if one puts a great deal of weight right on the plate, or uses the cane at an odd angle.
- One of my canes had a handle that tore. It was not a big problem, I just taped it with athletic tape and it continued to work wonderfully.
If you want to be certain that your cane lasts as long as possible, you should be certain to check the rubber feet on your cane frequently. make certain that they are wearing equally, and when they come close to wearing through, you should immediately replace them all. This cane uses 5/8" feet.
This cane can be adjusted for both right and left handed use. It also only has one button that has to be pushed in to shift the setting. Some canes have two. I am not certain if this increases stability (I have never noticed a difference) but it does make it easier to shift. This can also has a screw that secures the height of the cane. This DOES provide added stability.
I highly advise this cane for anybody who believes that a quad-cane is the right cane for his situation. I have tried several others, but this is, undoubtedly, the best that I have found and it is being sold for a wonderful price.

Drive Medical Deluxe Folding Cane Seat Review

Drive Medical Deluxe Folding Cane Seat
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Without the Drive Medical Cane Seat I would not have enjoyed the specific trade show my husband and I attended. I was able to sit comfortably while he garnered his information, generally an average of 45 minutes per location. I found the tri-pod cane part to be slightly clumsy and managed to "take out" one or two legs attached to people too close to me. I had to be careful when walking in crowds not to trip others. I am short, but I found the heighth of the cane to be okay. The sitting distance was perfect. It is sturdy but not heavy. Anyone who has a hard time standing for long periods should find this product to be of significant help in those kinds of situations.

Duro-Med Aluminum Adjustable Cane With Derby-Top Handle Review

This is a great cane and an outstanding value. But just to let you know, the "cyclone blue" is really purple so keep that in mind when picking out a colour. Had I known I would have gotten a different colour but at least I am a girl so it's not embaressing! I have MS and it's really handy to have this cane around. Plus, at 25 years old I don't want an old granny cane!

For those of us with canes, this is an inexpensive way to get good traction in ice and snow. It attaches to an ordinary cane so that the metal prongs can be flipped up and down as needed.

Duro-Med Adjustable Multi-Color Small Base Quad Cane Review

Duro-Med Adjustable Multi-Color Small Base Quad Cane
Average Reviews:

I've bought two of these recently--one for myself, one for a neighbor who liked mine. It's sturdy and stable; can be adjusted for right-or-left-hand use. (the loop should face forward for best balance--I've seen some people not use them correctly). Mine has a plastic film giving it some color--it's light-colored. It replaces a black one lost in travel. Light color is easier to find at night in dim light. The film CAN get nicked. I plan to touch up nicks with nail polish; craft stores have paints that also would probably work for touch-up. The foam handle is firm--softer than a rubber handle, but will probably wear. However--this was less than a third of the price for one available at a local store--so when the foam wears out, I'll just get a new cane! My neighbor is totally pleased with her silver cane also.

Drive Medical Small Base Quad Cane with Tab Loc Silencer and Triangular Padded Hand Grip, Silver Vein, Small Base Review

Drive Medical Small Base Quad Cane with Tab Loc Silencer and Triangular Padded Hand Grip, Silver Vein, Small Base
Average Reviews:

When I received this item, the outer box was in perfect condition. Upon opening the Amazon box, I found the manufacturer's box to be damaged on one end, as if dropped from quite high or smashed by a lot of weight. This had to have happened before it was put in the Amazon box. When I opened the inner box, I found the bottom welded assembly to be bent so badly that only two of the four feet would touch the floor at the same time. When I called about a replacement, I was told that there would be a three week or more wait for shipping. I returned the item for refund. Very disappointed that Amazon would ship an obiously damaged box without checking to be sure the item was in good condition. The quad cane itself looked just like what I wanted and would have rated it 5 stars if it had not been damaged.
