(More customer reviews)I've had the Navigator for over a year and am very happy with it. I keep it, folded, in the car of my father's car and use it when we go to church or anywhere else. He can walk but he tires easily. When we go for a walk, he starts out using it as a walker and when he gets tired, I push him in the wheelchair. The storage spot under the seat is handy for a sweater. It folds very easily, although, I'll admit that I only fold the back legs when putting it in the trunk because the front legs are slightly trickier. I also took off the nylon bands on the outside of the wheelchair legs as he kept knocking them off, anyway. Personally, I don't find the fabric seat back very comfortable--you have to sit rather far back in the seat for it to feel right--but he has never complained. At first I tried to put a pillow there, etc. but finally figured it was good enough. I recommend this highly for anyone who wants to keep walking but also needs a place to rest. I don't know how we would have gotten along without it.

I am an elderly (76 yrs) 5'3, 110 lbs and am able to load and unload this chair with ease into the backseat area of our vehicle. It is easy to maneuver and the gel cushion I purchased with it makes it very comfortable ride. We did not realize Amazon sells this chair so purchased from another store but if anyone is looking at Amazon to purchase I recommend this chair highly.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this chair to transport my mother to medical appointments and other places. I have been very pleased with it. We have been using it for several months now and it is sturdy and seems like it will hold up for many years to come. It is very easy to push and steer for the person doing the pushing. The handlebars have a nice feel to them and are at a good height. My Mom tells me it has a very comfortable seat for the passenger, as well. It is ready to go right out of the box. All you have to do is pull it apart to open the seat, flip up the handlebars, and attach the footrests (no tools are required). It folds up fairly compactly when the handlebars are flipped down. The folded chair just fits in my car's trunk. It might not fit into a small car trunk but you should be able to set it in the backseat if that is a problem. It does weigh about 30 pounds so consider this if you have to lift it up into a trunk. My Mom and I are very happy with and glad we bought this - it is nice to not have to depend on a chair being available at your destination!

Also known as a "companion chair", this lightweight rolling chair is especially invaluable for a caregiver who takes a family member to medical-related appointments. It isn't meant for everyday use around the house, or for day-long sitting, but rather for limited transport from a vehicle to a medical appointment, PT, or the hairdresser/barber shop, etc.
The comfort level is reasonable and the convenience level is unmatched. (A gel seat cushion might help, and can be purchased separately.) No transport chair will substitute for a wheelchair; someone else needs to push this chair.
IMPORTANT:
1. The weight limit for this item is 300 lbs. Don't order it unless you have verified that the person for whom it is intended weighs in at no more than that.
2. Even a person weighing 200 pounds will be tricky to transport, if you must go up ramps, so give some thought to your own physical limits. If you are up in years or have heart problems or a chronic condition yourself, you may need additional help.
3. You need to be able to fold and lift twenty awkward pounds in and out of a vehicle.
4. The back handles do fold, but that maneuver can be tricky. Unless you are mechanically inclined, ask someone for help in the minimal assembly, and then practice folding it until it feels easy to do!
5. Make sure your vehicle has adequate room in the trunk to transport this.
6. If not, or unless you have a station wagon or SUV, you may need to place this (folded) upright in the back seat foot area, right behind the front seatbacks. That means you may have little or no room for additional passengers.

With all considered, my total cost was much less than a similar and heavier low quality chair sold up here in Canada. This chair is very well made. The quality of the chair is excellent, and the price even better. I am taking it on a criuse and I'm sure it will live up to my expectations. My only complaint was not with the chair itself, but the photo on Amazon which erroneously implies bigger wheels on the back than on the front. This chair has 8 inch wheels all around. I have no regrets buying this product and would recommend it.

(More customer reviews)The handles are poorly designed. They unfasten, but only drop down a few degrees, so the unfasten feature is of no use. A metal rod inside one of the handles broke when I was lifting the chair over a curb. I was very luckly my wife was not injured.
The reason I purchased this chair was because of the larger rear wheel. That part of the chair worked very well as comparied to chairs with smaller rear wheels on uneven surfaces.

(More customer reviews)Nice sturdy walker without a lot of weight. I purchased this for my handicapped son that can walk limited distances and then needs to sit. The seat is quite wide as is the whole walker. A little narrower would be nice. It is 2" wider than our other walker with a seat. This model does go up to 300 pounds which is why it is wider but a junior size would be great.I have had trouble in the stores maneuvering through isles. The handles adjust to almost any height easily. I bought it for the footrests that fold out of the way while walking with it. My complaint is the footrests need to be picked up to swing back out of the way for storage. For a person to pick them up slightly and move them forward you need to bend over or sit down and try to maneuver them into place and I need my glasses to hit the slots properly. The wheelchair footrests just swings forward on the pins without lifting them. A minor problem but it is something to consider for independence of the user.
The only other modification is I need to add a safety belt to keep him on the seat better.
Overall I like this walker a lot and seems to be high quality and is what I need for my son. I am recommending it to my friends.

The cardboard used by the Chinese manufacturer was far too flimsy for
the weight of this wheelchair. The brakes needed some adjustment which
I was able to do and now the product works fine. My suggestion would be
to notify the manufacturer to use better packaging with heavy cardboard.
Also, to employ stricter quality control procedures in their shipping
department.

(More customer reviews)My father already has an Invacare rollator walker & I liked its sturdy quality. I read reviews/comparisons on this transport chair & was convinced would be best choice. I wasn't disappointed; it's sturdy yet lightweight (19.5 lbs). I have back problems but this chair is light enough for me to pick up & store either in the back seat or trunk of my Toyota Corolla. The 12" rear wheels does make it easier to maneuver. As for the issue with the foot rests swaying about once the chair is closed/folded, I used a short bungi cord thru the chair to hold them in place & that solved the problem. It was a great investment for the money & CSN Stores provided the best price. What I like about them, is they under promise & over deliver. Ordered the chair on a Sunday & received it (in great shape) by Wednesday; I didn't expect delivery for a week. I highly recommend both the chair & the vendor!

(More customer reviews)The transport chair was like the picture, but that was all. The chair did not collapse like an umbrella. It weighed well over 15 pounds. And it did not go in a tote bag like in the picture. The bag was fairly large and round, and would never fit in the overhead of an airplane. Nor would my mom be able to sling it over her shoulder. The chair itself is ok and collapses like a folding chair instead of sideways like a wheelchair. But carrying won't be as easy as it shows in the picture.

The chair must be pushed as there are no large wheels for the patient to push themselves. It is lightweight and folds into a size convenient for travel including on airlines.
The only negative I have seen is that the paint is easily scratched and therefore the frame shows scratches where the foot rests attach. It includes a vinyl case for travel.

Delivery was quick - only a couple of days and the price was very reasonable. The chair took only 20 minutes to assemble - it was very easy. This chair is well made and there were no issues. It is also light - I can't lift heavy things because of shoulder problems, but I could easily lift this into my car, mostly with one arm. The chair rolls very easily with a person in it - very smooth and easy to get over small curbs with the large back wheels. All in all, I am very impressed with Medline and my purchase experience. Excellent product.
