First, about the color (I got the green one): in very, very bright light and at certain angles, a slight greenish tinge can be seen. For all intents and purposes, though, the paint color is black, not green. It looks like it was painted black and then had the barest skim of a green metallic wash brushed over it. I'm disappointed in the color. It looks much greener in the picture.
Aside from the color, I'm pleased with this so far. It's my first, so I don't have any comparisons to other rollators, but it seems to work very well.
It was very easy to assemble -- unfold it, put the handle pieces in the ends of the frame, insert the knobs into the holes and tighten them at the correct height, stick the backrest into the other side, drop the basket into the space under the seat, and you're ready to roll.
The seat is higher than I expected -- when I'm sitting all the way back in the seat, only the balls of my feet touch the floor (I'm 5'7"). This is good because it's easier for me to stand up from a higher seat than a lower one.
I was concerned about using the hand brakes because I have little strength in my hands and fingers, but the brakes are very easy for me to operate and they work well. They are easy to squeeze upward to slow down or stop while walking, and easy and quick to flip down and lock the wheels when you want to sit.
It rolls easily on my carpeting. It easily fits through all of the doors in my house except for the narrow bathroom doors. It maneuvers well, turns sharp corners easily, and can easily do a u-turn in my hallway.
It's comfortable enough to sit in for a meal or a conversation, and the handles can be used as arm rests. The straight backrest bar feels about the same comfort-wise as a straight-back kitchen chair -- obviously not meant to be leaned on for extended periods, but functional enough to give your back a rest and keep you from falling out backwards. After all, it's not meant to be a La-Z-Boy!
It seems to be well built and feels sturdy. I lean heavily on it when I'm walking with it and it doesn't feel at all wobbly. If I accidentally sit down too hard in it, it doesn't feel like it's going to collapse under me.
I was resisting getting a walker and trying to make do with a quad cane and holding onto walls and furniture. The rollator makes everything so much easier and I wish I had gotten one sooner. With the rollator, I'm steadier when I'm on my feet, have a place to sit down instantly when I need to, and can easily transport books, laptop, food, etc, for myself.
The wire basket is easily removable -- it just rests (securely) in its place under the seat -- and has a handle, so it can be taken out and filled/emptied and put back in place easily. The seat is hinged in the back and lifts easily to allow access to the basket.
Everything about this rollator seems easy. I'm pleased with it and will buy another one to use in a different location. I wish I had gotten a rollator sooner!
