I keep it next to my bed and use it to put different books, pens & stuff on it which makes it keep everything in close range. VERY sturdy, not a piece of junk.
If you do have someone who is bed bound or needs a table by a chair, this is the best product I have ever had.
You wont be sorry if you purchase this.!!!!

It is highly functional and the larger surface makes it perfect for having several things on it at once! I have my wide-screen laptop with cooling pad, mouse, cameras and the ever present Mt Dew Code Red! I can use it with my rocker-recliner, wheelchairs (regular and electric) or when I am confined in bed. It is just perfect and I really love it - price is really great too for the value!

(More customer reviews)Mine was in the garbage within a month of receiving it.
Upon opening it, I was actually pleased with the work surface ... looked nice, good size and the pencil box holder was a added bonus to hold some small items .... like a pen.
That said, the pencil boxes are awkward to open, the cushion is too stiff and dosn't cover the entire bottom so it makes the thing off-blance and awkward. The deal breaker and what landed it in the trash was that one of the buttons on the cushion came off and those little, microscopic white styofoam "beads" where EVERYWHERE! And ... with all the static electricity from them, they're near impossible to clean up.
The concept isn't bad ... but the design specifics and quality are not good. I'm reluctant to buy another from Amazon or Maxi as a result!

I am a returning college student and this has helped me so much from writing my assignments to using to balance my laptop or storing my writing utensils and paper. I got it in the mail as a gift from a family member that lives in another state, and it was packaged well and arrived right on time from when my family member told me to expect it. I would definitely suggest this lap desk to others.

Duro-Med Rigid Plastic Bed Tray (Color May Vary) Review

(More customer reviews)Eventhough this was a little smaller than expected, the side pockets are SO useful and stores every important thing away so well! I use it as a laptop bedtray and it holds my 14" laptop just right, although i can imagine it not being able to accomodate a larger laptop.

(More customer reviews)This is a sturdy product. It is a usefly product for the elderly. It is about $40 less through Amazon than through the medical catalogues. My main disappointment is that you cannot lower the table. There is a spring mechanism that does not allow the table to stay at the lowest level, which is perfect for an older person sitting in a chair. We needed to keep the moving pin in place in order to keep the table secure. Unfortunately, that is about three inches too high. This may be good for over a bed, but doesn't work as well for over a chair.

Laptop wheelchair desk Review

(More customer reviews)Good idea but if the person using it has no manual dexterity, like my mother-in-law, it's of no use. She cannot manipulate the velcro straps that attach it to the arms of the chair. It's also too heavy for her to lift on and off the chair. Like I said, "Good idea...BUT". I had to send it back.

(More customer reviews)My Mom came home from rehab and needed an easy way to reach her remote, pills, magazines, eat breakfast... and still get the table out of the way so she could reach her walker. This type of tray was very useful in rehab. However she didn't want something the looked like the hospital. The white top with a space for a drink and pens and pencils that don't roll away when you move the tray was perfect. She liked the white top (vs. the wood grain in rehab) since she could tell when it was really clean. She was also pleased with the foot rest as part of the base. This was perfect. The reason I rated this at 4 stars and not 5 stars was that the bed kit came with one incorrect size nut so I had to go to the hardware store.

Rubbermaid Deluxe Overbed Table - Wheelchair Desk Review

(More customer reviews)This desk was easy to assemble and I like the reversible (left or right configuration) option.
The manufacturers claim it is rated to hold 50 pounds, and it does, though I was apprehensive as I set Mom's $3000 reader/scanner on the table. It's probably hard to make such a construction more stable. It's my only complaint. With that amount of weight on it, the desk wobbles a bit. But it's doing its job.
I would recommend it. Good value for the price.
