(More customer reviews)My Mom is disabled in CA. We live in NC. Her standard walker had so many restrictions for her small apartment that it made just getting a cup of coffee difficult. The walker's 2 little wheels in front required that she lift the entire walker to make a U-turn.
This rollator was easy to put together. Took about 5 minutes. The basket and tray in front are a Godsend. Mom can actually do some housework and empty the dishwasher or bring her dinner into the livingroom using the basket and/or tray.
Ironically, one of the best features is the vinyl bag that hangs securely between the handlebars. In earthquake prone CA, Mom keeps essentials in there (back-up medicine, phone, even slippers).
Mom's favorite feature: the wheels. Large rubbery wheels that don't get hung up. The 3 wheeled rollator is easy to maneuver too. Gets her into places she could not go before. Her words now, "I can go backwards and turn without lifting anything". I took her to the doctor's the day after she received this product. We had to navigate cobblestone walkways and the wheels did a great job. She adapted to her new wheels quickly.
Perhaps a four wheeler would provide more stability, but she is confined to the apartment for the most part and she definitely prefers this. And besides, it's cute, especially in red. She doesn't feel like she's in a hospital. She named it "Chity-Chitty-Bang-Bang". She can turn it around in front of the couch and eat her dinner off the tray.
The handles are easy on the hands, no more callouses. The brakes work quite simply with the palm of the hand (not requiring gripping). The only thing I would recommend is that the brakes were on all three wheels rather than two. For the price, this was a super gift for Mom - the gift of comfort, freedom, security and dignity. She loves it!!!!
