(More customer reviews)The product description states that this quad cane is made by "WPMS", but it's actually made by Drive Medical and is model #10300-1. I believe this model is discontinued, but it is a nice quad cane nonetheless.
I purchased this on behalf of my mother and asked her to share a few thoughts about it. She said that this quad cane is extremely well-built. Even though the description states that it can handle up to 250 lbs, it is actually rated to withstand up to 300 lbs.
There is good news and bad news with respect to the sturdiness and weight of this product. The good news is that the quad cane seems to be built quite well and is likely to last a long time. In fact, it has a limited lifetime guarantee and you don't see lifetime guarantees very often anymore. We joked that the "lifetime guarantee" might not mean much, since most buying this are senior citizens anyway, but some might not appreciate our sense of humor.
The bad news is that as mentioned, this quad cane is heavier than most. So while it work fine for my mother, it might not work so well for those with somewhat diminished upper body strength.
The base quite wide and she liked that aspect of it, as it offer greater stability to the user. The base measures approximately 11.5" x 8".
So it's a nice product from a apparently good manufacturer and is very sturdy and reasonably priced. For my mother's needs, "it perfect". But once again, if you have upper body stength issues, you might want to search for something lighter.
