IMAK Reversible Carpal Tunnel Brace, Medium 1 ea Review

IMAK Reversible Carpal Tunnel Brace, Medium 1 ea
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have made my living at a computer for more than 15 years and have paid with severe tendinitis and arthritis. When I found these gloves a year and a half ago I was nearly at wits end. They are a life saver. The padding and support are perfect. I can work without pain, and if I foolishly work without them - when I put them back on the support quickly helps me heal. I am not sure I could live without these gloves anymore. I have a pair for home and a pair that I carry in my laptop bag whenever I travel. (1 pair lasts me about a year, but that is with heavy use).
I highly recommend not just for those with injuries, but as a means of prevention as well. (the gloves with the thumb support work great as well, but take a little getting used to)

The 2 major brands that get repackaged by many pharmacy are Monoject & BD. Monoject is much better the needles hurt a lot less & they are easier to get air bubbles out of than BD. Occasionally I get a box that has a few that are a little banana shaped (still usable & better than dull).

Bariatric Offset Handle Cane Review

Bariatric Offset Handle Cane
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Received the product quickly, in excellent condition, and it was easy to assemble, even for someone with arthritis. However, it was not exactly as described in the online product information.
A HUGE discrepancy is the fact that the online information clearly states that this cane has a "500 lb. Weight Capacity". The literature and label that came affixed to the cane stated that the product has a weight capacity of only 300 lbs.
My cane has one adjusting pin (button), only on one side. After a secondary review, the picture my vendor (Continental Medical) provided shows this and does not advertise "dual push button release" as most of the Amazon vendor ads do for this same product.
However, I truly expected two pins (buttons), one higher than the other. The single push button does seem to work easily, but does not provide the security of two separate pins. The picture currently provided online for other Amazon vendors of this product shows one pin going through both sides of the cane. To me, that is still less desirable than two separate, vertically-stacked pins.
One advantage to this cane is that it works well for people of shorter height. Most of canes I considered started at a height that was too tall. The locking ring, visible in the online photo, also adjusts easily and there is no rattling. The wrist strap provided no personal benefit and was attached by a metal loop that reminded me of a smaller version of the metal loops that typically attach tags to dog collars. I removed it immediately as I could not imagine using it anyway, because of the cane's weight. The cane is heavy, but the grip does feel secure and comfortable and the wide tip gives a secure step. It appears to have a quality finish.
Overall: This cane suits my intended purpose, so far seems reliable and stable, and was a good price when I purchased it on sale. I was very disappointed that the weight limit was drastically different than advertised and that there was only one push button to adjust the height vs. two, which is a common feature found on many "drugstore" canes and would seem to make a bariatric cane more secure. I have only had this cane for two months and, because of weather and my limited mobility, have used it outdoors and on streets only 5-6 times. So far, it has performed well but I don't feel that I received all the benefits that were described in the online product information.

WaveSense Presto Blood Glucose Monitoring System Review

WaveSense Presto Blood Glucose Monitoring System
Average Reviews:

I think the biggest problem is the lancer- sometimes I have to do it more than once. It makes such a tiny puncture or sometimes not a puncture at all- that if it is not enough blood- the meter gives you an Error code. This is frustrating because you just wasted a strip- and although they are fairly cheap- it's the principle. I will use my old lancer with this meter. I don't know about accuracy, they are not the same as my old meter, which I was replacing. The strips come in a small container, and are easy to access.

Duro-Med Adjustable Multi-Color Large Base Base Quad Cane Review

Duro-Med Adjustable Multi-Color Large Base Base Quad Cane
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First of all, this product is only for people who prefer quad-canes to regular ones.
The pluses of quad-canes in general are this:
- They provide more support
- They can stand up on their own and do not need to be hung on a rack or chair
- People, like me, who have knee problems, can use the base of the quad cane as a rest for their foot so that they can keep their bad legs straighter
The minuses of quad-canes are:
- They are heavier
- They take up more space and cannot be folded
- One has to be cautious not to step on the base or kick it while walking
After you have weighed which kind of cane is right, you might consider whether this particular quad cane is right for you. The pluses and minuses of this product, based on my experience are:
Pluses:
- This particular quad-cane is quite light
- It is adjustable height (I am 6'4" and I do not even use its full height)
- It has a handle that provides a good grip
- If it is used properly, it is quite durable
Minuses:
- If you don't use canes properly, you will want a stronger, heavier model. For instance, this cane's base only has a plate on top of the four legs, not below. Hence, it is lighter, but the legs are more prone to bending if one puts a great deal of weight right on the plate, or uses the cane at an odd angle.
- One of my canes had a handle that tore. It was not a big problem, I just taped it with athletic tape and it continued to work wonderfully.
If you want to be certain that your cane lasts as long as possible, you should be certain to check the rubber feet on your cane frequently. make certain that they are wearing equally, and when they come close to wearing through, you should immediately replace them all. This cane uses 5/8" feet.
This cane can be adjusted for both right and left handed use. It also only has one button that has to be pushed in to shift the setting. Some canes have two. I am not certain if this increases stability (I have never noticed a difference) but it does make it easier to shift. This can also has a screw that secures the height of the cane. This DOES provide added stability.
I highly advise this cane for anybody who believes that a quad-cane is the right cane for his situation. I have tried several others, but this is, undoubtedly, the best that I have found and it is being sold for a wonderful price.

This thing is such a piece of junk I cant believe they try to sell it. I liked that it was battery powered so I could take it on a flight around the world. It also states that the cover can be unzipped to use on your back and I thought that was great, WRONG. It doesnt have enough power to massage, it tickles your feet instead of doing anything therapeutic. What a waste. In order to return it to get a refund it has to be unopened. Who doesnt open something they wanted. Now I would have to pay 30% restocking fee and shipping fee, whatever, I hope they discontinue this worthless product.

I am a large animal vet. I buy about 15 of these per year (loss, I break them, I sell them). Very happy.

I purchased this Drive Medical Bathtub Mat for an elderly parent. I installed the mat and ensured that the suction cups on the bottom were clinging to the tub surface. Unfortunately, the first time it was used for a shower, the mat slid right out from under her and nearly caused a serious accident. It was removed and will not be used again.

4" Vinyl Toilet Seat Cushion Review

4 Vinyl Toilet Seat Cushion
Average Reviews:

I purchased this for my husband to use after hip replacement knowing he would need a toilet seat riser. This product is not good for anyone that needs a riser. When you sit down on it-it shrinks to about 1 inch. Once he sat down on it he couldn't get up by himself. No matter how tight the velcro straps, it is still not very stable. I had to go out and buy another one locally that was sturdy.

SleePap Pillow 4" H - Special Pillow for CPAP Users (White) (4" H x 20" W x 26" D) Includes pillowcase Review

SleePap Pillow 4 H - Special Pillow for CPAP Users (White) (4 H x 20 W x 26 D) Includes pillowcase
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love my SleePap Pillow! I do not have a full mask, but only a nose pillow headset. This pillow is great for me, my CPAP and my side sleeping ways. Perfect set up for putting my hand under the pillow, perfect cut-out for my Lady ResMed headset. Fairly firm which is great for both side sleeping and back sleeping. I now sleep through the night - I was waking a few times during the night with my old pillow. My headset doesn't move or slid off during the night. I no longer wake with marks on my face. It is just plain comfortable.
I love the cutout for my shoulder on the bottom.
The only thing more I'd like to have is an all cotton pillow case, not cotton poly. I've washed the pillow case that comes with it and it keeps its shape and size.
TRY IT! YOU'LL LIKE IT!

Standers Millennial Crutch Review

Standers Millennial Crutch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNGGGGG term crutch user over 20 years now and counting. These crutches are EXCELLENT and the cost does not reflect the quality of this product. The quality is similar to the idea we used to say they don't make them like that anymore... well Mellennial does make them with old time quality at today's average crutch cost... with this you are truly getting your money's worth. Over all Quality is VERY VERY GOOD. These crutches are sturdy... and actually have more shaft strength than the traditional aluminum crutch. I can bend those shafts much easier than I could these. IF you are a short time user... don't worry about these... get them... Truth is you are going to hate being on crutches because it is a PAIN period... but these are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than traditional crutches it is worth it... the experience on these will be FAR FAR less exhausting and less frustrating. GO FOR IT.
If you are a long term user like me and you have to be careful about what you trust and need to be concerned about your ability to function in your world with these.. the detailed review below is what I wanted to know before taking the plunge with these.... but I am very glad I did.
Handle... is extremely sturdy and fairly heavy. Normal crutches require padding and fussing with for me... I was concerned about the hard look of these handles... they are softer feeling than they look (its like a smooth slightly cushy bendable without changing shape rubbery feel, but not stick rubber... smooth almost like coated) and I have had no need or desire to pad them... they are perfect feeling as they are not too hard or slippery (unless wet but they wipe off and dry up easily even if you don't have a towel or something you can do it with your hand). The other thing that is REALLY NICE about that is that I can clean these and sanitize these easily... Not possible for traditional crutch handles altered or unaltered... that material is porous and sponge like... this is not and it is very very easy to keep them clean HUGE HUGE improvement.. AND A MUST FOR KIDS OR DD. My regular crutch handles would get NASTY and I would have had to spend a fortune buying new ones to keep them somewhat cleaner.
The handle shape is comfortable but took me a bit of reworking my traditional hand position to get the hang of it and i had some discomfort initially... but I think that was due to me using traditional crutches for so long and so often I had to retrain my learned motor patterns for this new and better handle and hand position. after about a week I was very good with it. There are some significant differences, but they are positive. The weight baring is shifted to the ball of the saddle joint and heel of the palm on the thumb side while the back side (distal side of palm heel) no longer bares any weight. Better but took adjustment for me a long time user. First timers or irregular crutch users should not notice this.
Handle attachment and adjustments. The screw is a SUPPER improvement in ease of getting on and off. Much better than traditional wing nuts that break and crumble with long use.... The screw attachment is very smooth and easily adjusted which I recommend until you find the right combination of handle distance and hight adjustments for you personally. This was greatly appreciated when I was figuring that out and needing to take them out and reposition frequently in the initial week or two of use.
The only bad on the handle is that with EXTENDED (constant daily use to go anywhere) They do start to loosen up. I think that they need a secondary support on the underside. But short term users even if short term and daily will not notice this until about 2 or 3 mons. of use. Unless perhaps the person is very heavy like over 250 -300 that might make it worse sooner... just speculation... This is NOT A DEAL BREAKER though. It is an area of this product that improvement is needed but these crutches are still WAY WAY better than the traditional alternatives.
Height Adjustments on Shaft are just like traditional crutches but higher quality parts on these crutches... they are extremely well made and substantial feeling without extra weight. By far the weight from these crutches resides in the heavy handle because of the design it has to be and if they cost a little more than the traditional crutch in price it is deserved, you won't feel ripped off by these. The crutches have a very cool paint on them that takes that metallic feel of uncovered aluminum shafts that feels like nails on a black board away... they feel more like a bicycle coated paint...not quite that thick and heavy though... it is a very good improvement over the uncoated metal... they are smoother, slicker feeling. They do scratch and scuff, but less noticeable, it doesn't look as tacky when these get scuffed. Also when my traditional crutches got dinged or gouged they would often leave a sharp or rough edge that could actually scrape or even cut you... these have not done that and the scuffs scratches feel smooth and more cosmetic than the deep ones I could get on the old crutches.
The Arm Pads - I was skeptical about these based on the pictures... but I must admit these are far superior to the traditional pad. I have to duck tape material over the traditional crutches pads because it feels a bit better and the pads without a cover of some kind will wear and tear the hell out of my clothes with extended use over time. These crutches require NO ADDITIONAL padding or covers seriously nothing else is needed. They have been easy on my clothing and they are much more comfortable and less bulky feeling. Sometimes I am not sure they are even there. I am noting that they tend to slip away from the front end slightly... not much and you need to work them back up towards that end occasionally with a twisting and pulling motion slow but sure they flush up again. (I'm talking like a 1/4 inch at most.
The one negative to the Arm pads is this... because I am only 5'4 and I felt like I needed to get the short set.... the arm portion (flat bar at top) is smaller than it would be on the large size. I like this most of the time but.... once in a while when I am not paying attention I have had one side slip out backwards on me. This is a bit dangerous as it happens most often when I am leaning forward going down stairs or something.... but I have always caught myself. Minor issue really, but you do need to be mindful of the arm position if you are an adult with the smaller size crutch.
SPRINGS---- WAY WAY COOL.. do not fear this feature... embrace it fully... it is very subtle...after initial wow factor... these are NOT GOING TO CATAPULT you any where but they do ease some of the shock and push off requirements. My shoulders and maybe in the wrists even more feel less tense and I fell like I use less energy on forward propulsion. Here is the acid test. try them going up stairs. put crutches up first one stair then foot up two stairs (if you do this you know what I mean, I have learned over time how to go up stairs with crutches not feet first, this is an advanced skill). The only down to these springs i found was this... after about only one month.... the crutches started to scrap and Grind during the spring part. SCARED me at first.. thought they were defective... thought the spring was going to collapse from over use... it was an irritating feel and sound (NOT like fingernails on black board Far LESS harsh than that and not high pitched) but irritating. I thought maybe I was not being good about the angle... and I still don't know what was going on but it has now three mons later? it has all but stopped...maybe enough metal scrapped off and the groove is worn now but it doesn't do it any more. AND I DO NOT WANT TO GIVE THESE UP ... will never go back to the others NEVER. This issue could have been very serious but... it appears to have corrected itself and it has not compromised the quality or performance of the crutch in any way that I can tell. I am glad it stopped though. I would say if that were to happen call the company... but you can probably ride it out in a short time if you are long time user.
Tips... Supper impressed with their durability. I went through traditional tips every couple of months that metal piece would always ware though the bottom then fall out and I would be walking on the end of the metal tip (plastic covered) and slipping all over the in door floors until I could get a new one? welllllllll these tips are three months old and they look slightly worn on the bottom.... yes slightly like about 10% off original conditions and I AM NOT EASY ON TIPS... I walk all over outside and in all the time every day. I think that spring thing helps with this. Also they are much more multi directional in their surface grip than the traditional tips which get some what hard and brittle over time with age like two - three months. These are supple still... bendy and you can put your crutch on a far lower angle to the floor and expect it to hold its place without slipping I have tried like 60 degree angle estimate and it doesn't budge from the floor spot. I also have noted less slipping in wet conditions... they do slip... but not as bad.
Folding Feature - very very cool to have without in any way compromising the strength of the shaft. I was concerned that feature would cause the shaft to be less sturdy or stable than the non folding shaft. NOT SO.... It is accomplished with a button control just like the ones used for hight adjustments and the two halves are kept attached when folded by thin but strong bungy style cord in side core. EXCELLENTLY engineered. This is not a feature you will want to use every time you sit or get in and out of a car... but when you will be...Read more›

This is a convenient accessory. The basket just hooks on the front of the walker. It also has a metal handle that folds down along the rim of the basket. It stays on pretty well even when it has stuff in it and you're picking up the front of the walker to change direction. It would be nice if it had a cup holder. It is a little expensive for just a simple wire basket, but helps make for shorter trips around the house or office. I recommend it.
